Breakfast like a king, Lunch like a prince, dine like a pauper.

There is a lot of truth in this old saying.

You need food for energy during the day which is a good reason for a heavy breakfast. It doesn't make sense to eat half of your day's food in the evening.
Also it's not a good idea going to bed still digesting your supper, for the body will not have enough rest causing you to wake up fatigued and sometimes with a slight headache.
As a general rule, eat dinner early and leave at least 2hours before going to bed.
Such a habit will give your body enough time to rest, help you wake up fresh and ready for the day's activities.

  1. I'm inclined to agree to that. Breakfast if first of all called BREAKFAST because you are breaking a long fast! Remember health wise one should have their dinner before 8pm to give the body a chance to digest the food before you go to bed! Also since you are not going to be doing any work in the night, you are supposed to have a very light meal just to take you up to the next meal which will then Break The Fast, A.k.a Breakfast and thus the saying Eat Breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince and Supper like a Pauper!

  2. Very true, some people like to think that breakfast is not important. Always in a rush to go somewhere so they never have time, but there's always time for a heavy supper which shouldn't be the case.
